
Lauren Dawkins is a dynamic and highly conscientious Assistant Producer with a passion for transformative storytelling. Hailing from Lymington in the New Forest, Lauren launched her career through the prestigious Grierson DocLab training programme (2022), where she was mentored by Lorraine Heggessey, former Chair of the Grierson Trust.
Since then, Lauren has built enduring relationships with renowned companies including Flicker Productions, Minnow Films, BBC Studios and currently, 72 Films. Her credits as a leading researcher include ‘Kathy Burke: Growing Up’ (Channel 4), ‘Secrets and Spies: A Nuclear Game’ (BBC 2, CNN), ‘Stanley Tucci: Heart of Italy’ (National Geographic) and ‘Mozart: Rise of a Genius’ (BBC 2). Now an Assistant Producer at 72 Films, she is currently working on a standout archival historical series for a leading global streamer.
Lauren has also independently directed and several short documentaries and an award-winning narrative short film, ‘Recipe for Happiness’, which screened at BFI Southbank in 2022. Most recently, she contributed as a self-shooter to ‘Seabirds’, a short documentary directed by Xia Gray and selected for the Brighton Film Festival.
Lauren is recognised for her spirited approach to storytelling, her passion for unearthing specialist insights, and her unmistakable drive to create documentaries that powerfully and authentically move audiences.
